Impact India Foundation received the Sushruta Award for Outstanding Contribution by an NGO

We are proud to announce that Impact India, one of our important partners in India, received the Sushruta Award.

Impact India Foundation received the Sushruta Award for Outstanding Contribution by an NGO at a function organized on November 4, 2016 by the Indian Dental Association (IDA) in Mumbai. The Award was presented to Impact’s Founder Director & CEO, Mrs. Zelma Lazarus, by Mr. J. P. Nadda, Union Minister for Health & Family Welfare and Dr. Deepak Sawant, Maharashtra’s Minister for Public Health & Family Welfare, Dr. Ashok Dhoble, Secretary General, IDA and Dr. Tilakraj, President IDA… please view photograph attached.
 
Oral Health & Hygiene and Detection of Oral Cancer will form a part of the increase in health services being offered by the addition of Two coaches to  Impact India’s existing Five-coach Lifeline Express Hospital Train.  The Seven-coach hospital train, which  will be ready by end November 2016, will also provide services for Prevention & Control  of Breast & Cervical Cancer, General Surgeries and Family Health. This is in addition to restorative surgeries conducted for sight, hearing, clefts, burn contractures and orthopaedic impairment, and treatment of epilepsy and dental problems.  A total of  ~ 10,000 persons will benefit at each location the train halts.
 
Dental services on the Lifeline Express commenced in January 2012. Till October 2016, a total of 87,756 persons have been medically served for Oral Health & Hygiene with 19,250 undergoing procedures such as scalings, fillings and extractions.
