Athenkosi is a final year Masters student in Public Health at the University of Cape Town . Her research interests are in sexuality, gender and healthcare, particularly looking at the intersectionality of these dynamics with traditional rituals and health practices among black populations. She currently works as a project coordinator at the Bertha Centre for Social Innovation at the UCT graduate school of business. Within Bertha, she is part of the Inclusive Healthcare Initiative which focuses on enhancing knowledge on healthcare innovations in the continent and is invested in transforming the health system in the country and continent. She is part of a vibrant team of amazing women which is the best environment for a radical feminist like herself. She has a heart and passion for young black women and would like to dedicate my life helping other young women tap into a self-defined internal freedom
