Team Lead in Unitaid’s Operations team
Eva Nathanson is Team Lead in Unitaid’s Operations team. Unitaid is an international organization that invests in new ways to prevent, diagnose and treat HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria more quickly, more cheaply and more effectively. Unitaid is a hosted partnership of the World Health Organization (WHO).
Eva is from Sweden and has over 15 years of experience in global health. Before joining Unitaid, Eva worked at the Swedish embassy in Lusaka, Zambia, where she managed development cooperation programmes addressing Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights and the health of women and children.
From 2010-2014, she worked at WHO’s country office in Yangon, Myanmar, managing TB but also maternal and child health programmes. Before Myanmar, she spent eight years working on global TB control and TB/HIV co-infection at WHO’s headquarters, and in the late 1990s and early 2000, she worked on fighting TB as well as drug-resistant forms of the disease in Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union countries.
Eva holds two Master’s degrees in Molecular Biology from the University of Lund, Sweden, and in Health, Environment and Development from the Free University of Brussels, Belgium.
