Born in the province of Québec, Marlène was, until January 2014, Coordinator at the Department of Cytology at the University Hospital of Quebec (CHUQ).
During her professional carreer, she was also a supervisor for the students in cytology, involved in research projects, and a member of the committee of professional development of Association des cytologistes du Québec (ACQ).
At the same time, she has always been passionate about humanitary works and projects.
She began her first project in Haïti in 1992, where she started and upgraded medical laboratories. She stayed there for 2 and a half years to ensure that the installations were sustainable.
Throughout her lifetime, she has partipated in a few humanitary projects in Haïti, Nicaragua, Mozambique, and Burundi. She enjoys sharing her experience and knowledge with others. Now, she is retired and happy to have a lot of time to continue this rewarding work. Today, she receives different propositions; the next projects are expected to be in India and once again in Haïti.
