Programme Manager of Social Innovation Lab, BRAC
Rakib Avi is a programme manager at BRAC, based in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Rakib started his career with BRAC’s communications department where he managed large scale strategic communications projects related to public health, women empowerment, youth and technology for development among others. He started off key ICT4D initiatives at BRAC including the first hackathon organised by a development organisation in Bangladesh and BRAC Manthan Digital Innovation Award – an initiative to recognise grassroots-level innovators.
Rakib, in his current capacity, leads the Social Innovation Lab, which works as a knowledge and experimentation hub at BRAC. He is managing a portfolio of projects including digital financial services for people living in poverty, digital tools for development, youth empowerment and entrepreneurship development. He is also focused on scaling successful social innovations and identifying segments in the BoP market with high growth potential for BRAC’s social enterprises.
